Vice President – M&A Advisory

CERES provides deep industry knowledge, M&A expertise and research capabilities to advise on lower middle market sell-side transactions across photonics technology sectors including Photonics, Biophotonics, Information Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, Energy, Defense and Sensing.  Serving clients in US and Europe, CERES is hiring a senior-level professional to work on-site metro Boston and remotely.  This position affords direct and active interaction with the senior executive management teams of our clients.

Key responsibilities:

• Work closely with a well established M&A advisor in the photonics technology sector who will act as a mentor and help you fulfill your career goals
• Lead the execution of lower middle market sell-side M&A engagements
• Perform financial valuation
• Recruit and supervise a financial analyst
• Prepare pitch books and live deal materials, including memoranda, confidential information memoranda, management presentations and lender presentations
• Analyze detailed corporate and financial information, as well as conduct due diligence

Ideal candidate profile:

• A passion for technology and its critical contributions to advance health, communications, security, transportation and the environment
• Experience as an investment banking associate and ideally at least 1 year as a Vice President in technology banking
• A critical thinker who can quickly evaluate and analyze companies and financial information
• Strong analytical/financial skills as well as outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage a variety of transactions and projects simultaneously
• Resourceful self-starter, able to work autonomously and as a team player
• A competitive spirit and desire to win
• Education:  B.B.A or M.B.A.; Degree in engineering, math or science preferred
