Graduate Level Internship – Financial Analyst

CERES provides deep industry knowledge, M&A expertise and research capabilities to advise on lower middle market sell-side transactions across photonics technology sectors including Photonics, Biophotonics, Information Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, Energy, Defense and Sensing.  Serving clients in US and Europe, CERES is hiring a part-time financial analyst to work on-site metro Boston and remotely on a contractor basis.  This position affords direct and active interaction with the senior executive leadership teams of our clients.

Key responsibilities:

• M&A Advisory
  • Manage documentation and maintain virtual data rooms
  • Manage distribution and tracking of non-disclosure agreements and process letters
  • Prepare and proofread Confidential Information Memos
• Business Valuation
  • Research and screen transaction data for proprietary database of M&A and private placement transactions
  • Manage client documentation, financial statements and projections for valuation models
  • Support income and market approaches with research of comparable businesses and transactions; macro and microeconomic inputs; private costs of capital
  • Prepare and proofread reports

Ideal candidate profile:

• At least 3 years of previous work experience – ideally supporting the financial analyst function in investment banking, private equity or corporate development
• Expert knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Knowledge of Tableau, CapitalIQ, PitchBook
• Some academic experience with business valuation – ideally work experience with private capital valuation
• A critical thinker who can quickly evaluate and analyze financial information
• Strong analytical/financial skills as well as outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage a variety of transactions and projects simultaneously
• Resourceful self-starter, able to work autonomously
• Education:  B.B.A or M.B.A.
