Linda Smith

Founder, Principal

Linda Smith has 20 years experience in strategic marketing, product management, and sales.  Her experience includes successfully identifying market opportunities and developing, managing and financing product line growth for both public and private companies preparing for acquisition and financing. She has working experience across markets - from optical components and lasers to analytical instrumentation and medical devices to end-users in pharmaceutical manufacturing and semiconductor processing.

Linda held senior and executive product management, marketing, and sales positions at Thermo Electron/Spectra Physics/Newport, LINOS Photonics and Melles Griot - leading manufacturers and suppliers of optical components, lasers, and contract manufacturing services. She also held executive marketing positions at early stage, venture capital funded companies commercializing silicon based integrated optics and MEMS based photonics technologies.

Linda holds Bachelor of Science and Arts degrees in Optics and Mathematics from University of Rochester and graduated magna cum laude with a Masters in Business Administration degree from Babson College.

Mona Masghati

Mona Masghati has more than 10 years experience in engineering program management and new product development.  Her experience includes successfully leading operations and engineering teams and collaborating with marketing and sales teams to launch new products on time and under budget.  She has working experience across markets - from optics and lasers to analytical instrumentation and medical devices to cloud computing services.

Mona held senior engineering management positions at early stage, venture capital funded companies commercializing photonics technologies.  She is the recipient of a research grant by MIT Sloan Center for Digital Business to develop business models and strategies around social media and cloud computing.  Most recently, Mona is consulting to France Telecom in the area of digital business.

Mona holds Bachelors and Masters of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University.  She expects to graduate from Sloan School of Management August 2010.
